PEACE Engineering Conference
On November 12th through 16th, 2018, the University of New Mexico School of Engineering, in collaboration with the Ibero-American Science and Education Consortium (ISTEC) and the Global Innovation Network for Entrepreneurship and Technology (GINET), will host the VIII World Engineering Education Forum, the X Global Engineering Deans Council, the XIV Global Student Forum, and the First Ever Global Career Fair in Albuquerque (ABQ), New Mexico. This prestigious event, held for the first time in the United States, will also feature the Global Entrepreneurship Challenge.
The theme of the WEEF-GEDC 2018 conference is Peace Engineering: prosperity, sustainability, social equity, diversity, culture of quality, innovation and entrepreneurship. By focusing the development on key best practices, measuring the outcomes and focusing on impact, the world can be made into a better place, through the systemic ethical and entrepreneurial practice of Engineering. A transdisciplinary approach will emphasize innovation and creativity while stressing the importance of applying science and engineering to the solution of practical problems. Additionally, this advances social justice and sustainable social, economic, and environmental solutions globally.
